Friends of Walton Park (Sale) are raising funds towards a new, exciting and challenging climbing structure in the older children's play area. This will replace the old wooden structure (main picture), which is nearing the end of its life.

We aim to significantly improve the play experience for older children and enhance our much loved neighbourhood park for everyone. And with over 900 responses to our community survey, we know that there is strong support from local people, who would like this project to succeed.

Trafford Council has allocated some funding for a small, replacement play structure. However, Friends of Walton Park is aiming for a larger, more exciting piece of equipment that encourages climbing, sliding, swinging and social play, aimed at children over five. We are aiming for something like the example below:

We need to raise approximately £85,000 to combine with the Council's funding. We are hoping to secure a significant proportion of this from major bids to community fund(s). In addition, Friends of Walton Park will be contributing a large part of our savings accumulated from regular donations and park events.

We have set up this GoFundMe page to give local residents, businesses and park users the opportunity to help us achieve (or even exceed) our target. The more we raise, the better the final result will be, so we encourage you to get involved!
