We are Friends of Offham Road, a growing community group formed by local residents who care deeply about protecting the beautiful open countryside, wildlife habitats, and rural character that make West Malling and Offham so special.

A major housing proposal for more than 230 homes threatens Grade 1 agricultural farmland, important wildlife corridors, and the natural green buffer between our villages. We are determined to ensure that every resident’s voice is heard, that the environmental impact is properly assessed, and that the future of our landscape is shaped thoughtfully, transparently, and fairly.

Funds raised will support expert ecological and planning advice, printed materials for residents, specialist surveys, community events, and legal guidance where needed. Every contribution—large or small—helps us stand up for our countryside, protect rare species, challenge poor planning, and empower the whole community to engage confidently in the process.

This campaign is about more than one field. It’s about safeguarding the place we call home, defending irreplaceable farmland, and ensuring that future generations inherit a landscape that is rich, vibrant, and alive. Together, we can make a difference.
