These past couple of months have been extremely difficult for our friend Hilary, who has been dealing with Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) clawbacks, after they discovered that she resides with her partner. Hilary tried to appeal these clawbacks, and her appeal was denied leaving her with a hefty bill of $22,000.
This has been severely distressing for Hilary, who truly is a fighter. A long-time queer advocate, who was once homelessness herself, Hilary is absolutely distraught at the possibility of having to pay an amount that is far beyond what she can afford. Moments like this make one feel helpless, and as advocates for dignity for all, we are putting together this fundraiser to help our friend Hilary during this stressful time.
Please share this fundraiser with your friends, family and community.
