Friends and family, my son and I are in need of your help.

A Petition for Guardianship was recently filed in Barnstable County Probate and Family Court in which a third party is trying to take my child from me for a second time. Unfortunately, the current attorneys that have been representing me since 2022 in a pending parentage case have a conflict of interest with the third party that has petitioned for my child therefore, they cannot represent me in this guardianship case. Since the parentage case was filed in 2022 among many things, my attorneys had to file an interlocutory appeal, which was successful resulting in the Massachusetts Appeals Court vacating a court order in the parentage case in which this same third party was given custody of my child. The Appeals court stated they were vacating the order as they had not been made aware of any evidence in the record before the judge that would have supported a finding that I was an unfit parent. However, I simply do not have the financial resources to pay an additional attorney for the guardianship, and a court date has been set for the case for Friday, February 28, 2025.

What is at stake here for me is huge, my constitutional rights as a parent, therefore I am humbly asking for your help.
