This is the Spellman family. They have been dear neighbors for 6 years. Our children have grown up together. We have spent many birthdays together and, when time allows with a busy family, had the occasional chat. Ashley worked with me at Methodist for years as a Pharmacology Tech, as well as with Jeff’s late mother, Sue Caldwell.

The storms on Friday have greatly impacted these friends of mine. While insurance will be covering damages, the upfront costs while caring for a family of four are unattainable even for us. The roofing and insurance company for the family won’t even quote the family until the limbs are removed from the house. The home's kitchen is inoperable and remains open to the elements. I am so happy the entire family is safe.

That being said, hotel costs, tree removal, and just general displacement of a family can be tough. Anything we can offer to help pay for tree removal or emergency hotel costs I know would help. This family could use our help. We love our community and have enjoyed growing up with this family.
