Hi, I am Isobel, I’m 15, and my cousin Freya, 17, and I are fundraising
in order to raise £5000 each to be able to go on a month long Camps International
Expedition to Kenya in July 2026.
We are doing a sponsored walk of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on the 26th of July to help raise funds for the expedition and would be extremely grateful for any donations to this worthy cause, any amount you could give would be fantastic.
Camps International support rural and indigenous communities around the world to improve their local living standards. Their community projects focus on improving access to proper education, training and healthcare. They also work to secure fresh clean water and shelter for those most in need. They have positively impacted the lives of over 120,000 people, have provided homes for more than 60 of the poorest families, vaccinated and treated more than 34,000 livestock to improve animal welfare and their reforestation efforts have established at least 1.1 million extra trees since 2003.
We will be living and working within local communities in Kenya, here are some of the
projects we will be getting involved with,
* Building desks for school children who would otherwise be sat on the floor.
* Building classrooms to provide children with safe spaces to learn.
* Digging elephant watering holes, helping the elephants survive the dry season,
* Making ethical elephant deterrents to protect local crops. This also helps reduce poaching.
* Rhino sanctuary maintenance work. Rhinos are hugely endangered and poaching is rife.
* Goat de-worming.
* Installing fresh water tanks in schools and in villages.

Thank you very much for reading this.
