Hello. I love growing my own healthy, organic foods. Currently, I have a small garden that is 16'x16' and it produces more than enough for my husband and I, so we give the remaining away to families in our small, rural community. Many of the households out here are elderly, disabled, and on a fixed income. The closest store for fresh fruits and vegetables is 20 miles away. I love being able to share fresh cucumbers, okra, tomatoes, squash, carrots, and beans with my community, but I want to grow and share even more.

I am a faithful follower of our Lord Jesus Christ and have been praying for months asking God how He would have me share my gifts. We are not wealthy by any means, so helping others financially is not an option, but I do have the gift of gardening and growing food! This is what this fundraiser is for.

The garden plan I have will produce way more food than my husband and I could use/preserve in a year! The "first fruits" of the garden would be freely given to the most in need in our community before we take any for our own personal use, which would only be about 25% of what would be produced, and the rest would be shared freely with our small community.

We have an area on our property that is about 3000 square feet that I wish to build a much larger garden, berry patch, and small orchard. The area needs to be leveled and fenced to keep out wildlife, as we live remotely. The orchard would contain 8 dwarf fruit trees, 2 apple, 2 pear, 2 peach, and 2 nectarine. The berry patch will contain blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, and rhubarb. The vegetable section will have squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, peas, carrots, potatoes, broccoli, brussel sprouts, okra, onions, artichokes, and radishes as well as medicinal plants and herbs.

The food would be grown in raised beds: 17 beds that are 4x8x2 and 4 beds that are 4x4x2. The organic soil would be delivered from a local supplier and is a high portion of the funding needed. Water will be delivered via a drip system.

Once established, we will have u-pick days at least 2 days a week where people can come get the food they need for free. Disabled individuals would have food delivered to their homes.

I will do this with or without funding assistance, but it would take me several years to build this to where I can share freely with my community, which is my goal. With funding, this would be producing enough to start sharing in the summer growing season of 2026!
