My name is Jamie. I would like to raise funds to buy food, clothing, and other basic necessities for the houseless and/or hungry of Philadelphia.
On May 31st, my friend Max was harassed while reading his copy of the Bible. He was seen at the hospital for minor injuries due to the altercation and upon release, walked onto Philly streets where people were gathering to say: “NO TO ICE. YES TO COMMUNITY.” Max joined and marched with fellow protesters.
He held a sign that read:
WELCOME THE STRANGER
LOVE THY NEIGHBOR
I viewed Max as a leader before I ever spoke to or learned about him. Max marched in circles around us, respectfully. He marched from the front of the group to the back again making sure the group was staying together and safe. That no one was getting disconnected or disappeared from the group. His voice urged me to use my voice. His energy gave me energy.
Max wore a gold jacket and no t-shirt because he gifted the one he was wearing to someone who needed it. At the end of the day he asked me for nothing more than $5 for a bus ticket to see his pastor.
Max visits a church in Philly that offers food and clothing if they have it available. My goal is to fill my car to the brim with fresh food and clean clothing. I would like to deliver these goods directly to the church Max mentioned. I need help making that happen.

Please consider helping me raise funds to buy food, clothing, and other basic necessities for the houseless and/or hungry of Philadelphia.
