Freeman Dre Needs Our Love and Support

Freeman Dre is a beloved local Toronto musician who has graced us with his remarkable lyrics, powerful performances, and messages that he communicates through his art.

On Wednesday, January 25th, Dre experienced an aneurysm in his anterior communicating artery which links the two hemispheres of the brain. Thanks to a swift family reaction, an amazing medical team at the hospital, and Dre's tenacity, he has survived the aneurysm and is currently in the Trauma/Neuro ICU.

As a musician, Dre makes his living through live performances. At this point, Dre will need to commit full-time to his recovery from the aneurysm. At the time of this writing, he is surrounded by Lauren and his family who are by his side cheering him on. As of today, he is breathing on his own! While he has a long road ahead of him, we are all looking forward to having him return to the stage to share his music once again.

Please consider donating to help support Dre as he recovers and to bridge the time between now and when he can once again perform. We want him to focus his energy on healing, and to ensure his rent is paid so that he can come home and resume his Sunset Concert series soon.
