At Mountain Recovery Alliance, we believe every person deserves a safe, supportive place to begin their recovery journey. Our licensed recovery home in Flagstaff, Arizona provides structure, accountability, and community for women rebuilding their lives after addiction, incarceration, or treatment.
The first few weeks after release or treatment are an especially vulnerable period — most women we serve are eager to rebuild their lives but lack access to safe, stable housing where recovery can begin. In the past, outside agencies have helped cover first month’s rent after release, but many of these funding sources have since dried up. As a result, women ready for recovery are being turned away simply because they can’t afford move-in costs — forcing them back into the unstable environments and patterns they’re fighting to escape.
The Freedom House Open Scholarship Fund is an ongoing, bridge-the-gap initiative that helps women cover their first month of housing while they seek employment and regain independence. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Mountain Recovery Alliance operates on slim margins, and our Board of Directors is entirely volunteer-based — meaning every dollar donated goes directly toward housing and recovery support.
Whether you are able to donate $5, $50, or $500 — every gift helps provide safe, stable housing during the most critical stage of recovery. Small donations are greatly appreciated.
When one woman finds recovery, it strengthens families, communities, and futures. The ripple effect of recovery is a powerful testament to redemption and the life-changing power of second chances.
Donate or share this campaign to enable more women take that first step.
