Free Therapy for Emotional Healing

Everyone has painful experiences - it's an unavoidable part of being human. After a series of heartaches, I found myself going through more than seven years of therapy to heal from: my newborn passing away the day after his birth, acknowledging my struggle with alcohol and taking the long road to become sober, finally accepting that I had never healed after being raped in my late teens and doing the hard work to forgive my perpetrator, a terribly painful divorce with countless negative ramifications, and overcoming a lifelong belief that I was not worthy of success, love, or deep happiness.
It was a long seven years, and although I had an incredible therapists, I found that I still had a lot of inner work to do. So I dove in and worked hard to fully heal my pain and suffering so I could be truly happy and love myself and my life.
In that span of time I ended my career as a school counselor, and I started working as a life coach for adults. That's when I ran into the same block with people who were suffering over and over - the same list of reasons why people did not want to get help with their emotional pain:
• they didn't want to talk about their private, painful life experiences
• they especially didn't want to do this with a stranger
• they felt like they were flawed or weak or too vulnerable if they got therapy
• they didn't really believe it would help
• they didn't know where to begin with the suffering they'd experienced
• they didn't know where to go for help
• they worried about being judged
• they thought they'd talk and talk and then get nowhere while a therapist made a bunch of money
• they'd rather talk with their friends (not a good idea... trust me)
• and the expected reasons... cost, time, fear, being comfortable in their discomfort
Really the list went on and on.
And so did their pain and suffering.
••• AND SO I BECAME DETERMINED TO FIND A NEW WAY •••
It took me years, but I created a process called The Green Heart Pre-therapy Self-evaluation. This evaluation is a safe, private, non-invasive way for people to do the hardest part of therapy :: looking at the pain they've been carrying around in their heart and figuring out how it all ties together; understanding how the full story of their past is contributing to why they're living a less-than-happy life.
The best part of this evaluation is this:
When people complete it, they realize that they DO NOT HAVE TO TALK about the pain or the past or their suffering. They can still get professional help, but they can skip the talking and talking about the past.
INSTEAD they can go to a therapist, counselor, psychologist, life coach, or energy worker and only tell them THE RESULTS OF THEIR PAIN... they can tell them how the pain from their past is AFFECTING THEM NOW.
Phew, that is a big relief.
And it's really all that matters.
We can't change the past.
So all we have to work with is how the past is affecting us NOW.
Our present life and future can be changed. THAT can heal. THAT healing results in leaving the pain in the past so you can live a happier life.
••• AFTER HELPING MANY PEOPLE, I REALIZED SOMETHING MORE •••
There are a LOT of hurting people in the world, and just my evaluation could help them start healing. I want to help as many people as I can to stop carrying pain from their past...
...and I have a long term plan to do so...
It all begins with Thea.
••• THEA THE BUS •••
Thea the bus will be a place to gather... a 'place' I can bring anywhere (because it's on wheels!). And when I do, this is how I'll be able to help people:
I can bring Thea anywhere people gather. Her doors will open to anyone who has completed the Green Heart Pre-therapy Self-evaluation - which will be found online and just outside Thea's doors in hardcopy.
Once inside, I will walk people through a deeper process where they use what they learned from their personal evaluation (I never even have to peek at it). This process helps them understand their life journey and how the many different experiences (especially the suffering) has impacted them... overtime, and especially right now.
THAT INFORMATION IS INVALUABLE because it's the most important part - it's what can be used in healing and improving the future. Let me give you an example...
Let's say a woman goes through a really tough divorce after her husband has an affair. She wants to get over the pain of the marriage ending and the lost plans she had for the future. When she completes her evaluation, she discovers that she has stuffed something very important (and very painful) way back in her mind (which is very common for people to do). What she's repressed is that she was sexually assaulted as a young girl. This old pain, she can then see, contributed to her sexuality, how she felt around men, her trust in men (even her husband), and how she communicated. She sees this pattern, this connection - like a tapestry of her life.
Realizing that the pain stems back to the sexual assault helps her begin the deeper healing that she's been holding in her subconscious for decades. Healing from that assault helps her heal from the divorce, too.
And NEVER does she have to tell the whole story of the sexual assault over and over. There is no need for her to relive that horror. What she needs to do is heal how it's still impacting her now.
••• ALONG WITH THE EVALUATION •••
I will be speaking on FORGIVENESS and WHY WE SUFFER IN LIFE.
I'll also be providing workshops on THE FIRST STEP TO HEALING and SELF-LOVE AND 'BAD' EMOTIONS.
I will have HEALING CONVERSATIONS with small groups inside Thea the Bus (or other locations depending on the size of the group). These conversations result in compassion, connection, and healing.
And finally, within Thea I will be able to provide more modalities of healing such as Reiki and EMDR.
••• MY LONG TERM VISION •••
Because I have one more wonderful year of having kids at home before college, for the next year I will only be traveling in the mid-west areas around south-west Michigan.
In the fall of 2020 I'd like to take a long trip around the states - stopping in many places to open Thea's doors to anyone who wants to begin a journey of healing.
In the farther future, I'd like to accomplish these things:
• get more Thea busses with other counselors who are trained with The Green Heart Life Evaluation process, and have them also travel in their areas providing a free start to healing
• have this process also travel to other countries with more wonderful counselors and Theas
• bring this concept into prisons (to reduce recidivism rates) and into schools (to reduce the effects of ACEs - Adverse Childhood Experiences on students and their parents)
• bring this concept into other places where people are more at-risk PROBONO such as teenagers in foster care, homeless, veterans, people who've experiences abuse/trafficking, individuals struggling with addiction, and many others
••• WHY THIS IS MY DREAM & WHAT I BELIEVE IN •••
As odd as this might sound, I believe we connect more when we SUFFER than when we are in joy or celebration. It's great to be somewhere like a wedding - having fun with people we care about... dancing, raising a glass, and laughing. And we certainly do connect in that joy.
But think about a time when you've seen a tragedy on television (or perhaps even in person). WE COME TOGETHER IN PAIN. I think it's amazing how, in those time of great suffering, we no longer see differences, we no longer worry about things like money or possessions. WE COME TOGETHER IN LOVE
Humans are amazing... people are built to be compassionate, kind, generous, forgiving, loving, and HAPPY. It's just that so many people are holding onto suffering from their past.
I want to change that!
So while I help people better understand their history and why/how it has impacted their current life... and while I help them see how much better life is when they heal that pain... and while I encourage them to heal so that they can live their happiest life possible...
I will also be building community - teaching about healing but also about the most important parts of life - how we all experience and crave the same things: love, happiness, inner peace, acceptance, and success.
