The Cadia Community Sustainability Network (CCSN) was established by local residents committed to protecting the economic, social and environmental future of our region.

Many residents are aware that a Class Action has been filed on behalf of eligible community members who have been impacted by alleged contamination associated with mining activities in the Cadia region. As this legal process progresses, many families are seeking independent scientific information about potential exposure within their household

Children cannot choose where they live, play or attend school. They rely on adults, governments, regulators and industry to ensure their environment is safe. That is why CCSN is working to ensure families have access to independent scientific testing that can help establish a clear picture of potential contamination within our community.

We already know that some local residents, including children, have recorded elevated levels of heavy metals through blood, urine and hair analysis. Many families are seeking answers about potential exposure and its long-term implications. This campaign seeks to ensure that every family has access to the information they need to protect their children's health and wellbeing.

Every eligible child living within the impacted area should have access to FREE PFAS and Heavy Metal testing, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.

Why This Matters

Testing provides families with valuable information about their children's exposure levels and helps build an evidence base that can:

• Identify potential contamination trends within the community

• Support ongoing health monitoring

• Inform future research and policy development

• Strengthen calls for improved environmental oversight and accountability

• Help ensure that what has happened in Cadia never happens to another Australian community

Our Fundraising Goal

CCSN is urgently seeking community support to fund independent testing for children living within the impacted area.

$450 Sponsors One Child

A donation of $450 covers the full cost of:

✓ Heavy metal analysis

✓ Laboratory processing

✓ Scientific reporting

✓ Community data collection and analysis

9:00am – 5:00pm

Families attending will receive:

• Blood sample collection

• Assistance with registration

• Support completing health surveys

• Morning tea

• Community sausage sizzle
