Free Lonna

Lonna Kin has been chained to a dead marriage for the last 17 years. She is civilly divorced from husband Meir Kin but in order for her to be able to date or even get married to someone else she needs to receive a get (Jewish document of divorce ) from Meir Kin. Meir Kin has claimed for almost two decades that there is a get waiting for Lonna in a Beit Din in Monsey and that she just needs to “pick it up.”

There is no get waiting for her. This so-called Beit Din is widely known as corrupt, engaging in financial extortion and sexual coercion in exchange for a Get. Lonna and her children suffered unspeakable abuse during her marriage to Meir Kin, and he continues to exert his power and control even 17 years later.

Meir has been able to obtain a rabbinical allowance to remarry by the very same Beit Din allegedly holding the get. Despite being remarried, Meir refuses to allow Lonna to do the same. Not only will Meir Kin not give Lonna her freedom, but he coaches and trains other men how to withhold a get and entrap their wives in a dead marriage. He runs support groups for these men via WhatsApp, Facebook and YouTube. He has created a safe house for men to run to when they are ostracized by their communities and are no longer welcome.

Lonna has spent 17 years trying to negotiate her freedom from Meir Kin. Please help us end this atrocity and demand justice for Lonna and all other women who have suffered the abuse of Meir Kin, his corrupt Beit Din and his followers. 

The funds will be used for legal assistance and campaigning against get abuse and advocating for human rights.
