My name is Colin Andrew Logan, and I'm raising funds to free my brother Leandro, known by his loved ones as Leo, from ICE detention.
I've been Leo's asylum sponsor since he came to the United States as a refugee seeking safety in December 2024. I met Leo in 2002, when I was an international exchange student with the Rotary Club. Leo was my first violin student. Leo has always been kind, respectful, curious, loving, and service-oriented.
Having known Leo and his family consistently over the last 24 years, I have always marveled at his leadership, his consistent willingness to show up to support people, and his love and dedication for music - both playing and teaching.
On December 4th, 2025, Leo was kidnapped by ICE in San Francisco, California, when he showed up for his scheduled immigration appointment. Leo is locked up at an ICE Detention Facility in California - a for-profit private prison operated by GeoGroup that is funded by US taxpayers.
Like many thousands of others, Leo is being treated inhumanely, and his due process rights, civil rights and human rights are being violated every day that he remains in a cage. Every day that passes is a day in which Leo's family and friends are deprived of his loving presence.
We need to raise $10,000 by February 26th in order to retain the legal services that he needs to get out of ICE detention.
