Hello, my name is Emilia Chavarria, and I am the wife of Joksan Bimael Gonzalez Galo. Joksan was detained by ICE on May 26th while he was working with his mini-excavator in San Augustine, Texas. Three undercover agents were hidden inside the Sheriff's vehicle; they came out only after the Sheriff's deputies had finished questioning his work crew. They took him to Conroe, and from there, they transferred him to the Rio Grande Valley—specifically to the detention center in Port Isabel—hundreds of miles away from our home in Houston.

They are refusing to let him appear before a judge, claiming that he is not eligible to do so. He says he is being held in inhumane conditions; he is sick, with headaches, fever, and a cough—but they are refusing him medical attention. He can't eat the food they give him, since it's spoiled.

I am asking for your help to cover the expenses required to secure his release, as well as to support our family. He urgently needs legal representation, and I am now left to face this situation alone. He is the sole provider for our household, and we are now struggling to pay our rent, utility bills, and other necessities. I appeal to you for your support on his behalf; he is a humble, respectful man who is friendly to everyone he meets. He is a good husband, friend, stepfather, grandfather, and uncle.

This situation is even worse because we had just secured the release of our nephew, Luis Fernando Cabrera Chavarria the week before and now our family is being torn apart once again. We ask that our community stand with us to take action against this latest injustice targeting working-class people.

Hola, me llamo Emilia Chavarria, soy la esposa de Joksan Bimael Gonzalez Galo, quien fue secuestrado por ICE el 26 de Mayo cuando estába trabajando en su mini-escavadora en San Augustine, Texas. Estában escondidos tres agentes encubiertas en la camioneta del Sherif que salieron despues de los de Sheriff interrogar a su equipo de trabajadores. Lo llevaro a Conroe, y de Conroe, lo trasladaron al valle, al centro de detención en Port Isabel, cienes de millas de nuestra casa en Houston.

No lo están dejando ver un juez y dicen que no puede. Dice que está en condiciones inhumanas, está enfermo con dolor de cabeza, fiebre y tos, y no lo están dando atención medica, y no puede comer la comida que está podrida.

Estoy pidiendo su ayuda para poder cubrir gastos para él para sacarlo y para nuestra familia. Necesita representación legal y ahora estoy sola. El es el sostén de mi hogar, y ahora faltamos para la renta, los biles, y más. Le pido su apoyo para él, quien es un hombre humilde, respetuoso, amigable con todos. El es un buen esposo, amigo, padrastro, abuelo, y tio.

Me da mucha pena también porque acábamos de liberar a nuestro sobrino, Luis Fernando Cabrera Chavarria, una semana antes, y ahora nos están seperando nuestra familia de nuevo. Pedimos que nuestra comunidad nos apoye y intentamos hacer algo contra esta nueva injusticia contra las personas trabajadoras.
