Ilyas Atta Muhammad Welfare Trust was established in July 2011 as a non-sectarian, non-profit NGO
Initiated by my grandfather, Commodore (R) Muhammad Ilyas, he has spent his life helping others. He grew up in a small village called Kukal Bursin, near Abbottabad in Pakistan. When he was just in Grade 3, his mother was diagnosed with tuberculosis. Back then, there was no hospital nearby. Sadly, she passed away the next year.
That moment changed him forever. As a child, he made a promise to himself:
“If I ever have the means, I’ll build a hospital in my village so no one has to watch a loved one suffer without help.”
Years later, after serving his country in the Naval forces, he returned to that same village and kept his promise. He built Amma Jee Free Hospital, named after his mother. Since 2012, it has treated over 200,000 people—all for free.
Now, at the age of 80, he’s started something new. He’s building a free girls’ school —called Malka Ilyas Gahwara—to give local girls the education they deserve. It will provide schooling up to Grade 8, along with free uniforms and books. In a place where many families can’t afford to educate their daughters, this school will be a safe, hopeful space.
My grandfather has been funding all of this himself through his trust, the Ilyas Atta Muhammad Welfare Trust. He never asked for help—but I am.
I’ve watched him quietly serve others for decades. He’s not doing this for recognition—just for love, faith, and the belief that every child deserves a chance.
Here’s how your donation will help:
Finish building the school
Hire passionate, qualified female teachers
Provide free books, uniforms, and school supplies
Keep the hospital running and offer more medical camps
Reach more families with dignity and care
This isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s a promise made by a son to his mother. And I’m so proud to be part of it.
If you believe in education, in healthcare, in kindness—please consider supporting this cause. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us closer to a better future for these children.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
