My amazing father, Francis Geib, was diagnosed on May 6, 2025, with stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma – bile duct cancer, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. This devastating news has turned our world upside down in such a short amount of time.
Dad began his first round of chemotherapy on June 20, 2025, with hope, courage and strength. However, just a few days later, on Tuesday, June 24th, he was taken to the hospital due to complications. After further tests, we received the heartbreaking news that the cancer had taken over his entire liver and the Drs were unable to do a transplant since the cancer metastasized to his lungs. He was sent home on hospice Sunday, June 29th.
We are shattered by this prognosis. Franny is a loving dad, grampa, a great friend to so many, and a fighter. He has always put others first, and now we want to do the same for him.
As we face the unimaginable, we are beginning to prepare for the financial burdens that come with end-of-life care, including medical expenses, time away from work, and eventual funeral arrangements. We want to make sure dad is surrounded by love, peace, and dignity in the time he has left, and that our family can focus on being together during this hard time.
If you are able to contribute, no matter how small, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation will go directly toward supporting dads care and our family’s needs during this difficult time. If you can’t donate, we ask that you please keep Franny in your thoughts and prayers, and help us share this fundraiser with others.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, love, and compassion. And thank you to everyone who has been here for dad and Terri, his “lovely assistant” as he calls her, through this. I don’t think anyone knows how much it truly means to me. I feel so blessed knowing how many love and care for my dad.
