Hi, My name is Jess. I am a single mother with two children with autism, Frankie and Baxter.
My beautiful child, Frankie is living with profound non-verbal autism. Although she cannot use spoken words to communicate, she has so much to say, feel, and share with the world. Right now, the biggest barrier between Frankie and those around her is not a lack of thoughts or feelings—but the lack of a way to express them.
I have been buying iPads with communication apps installed but as she takes this everywhere it is constantly being broken, as these are not made for sturdiness and I can no longer afford to keep putting myself in debt every time one breaks.
We are fundraising for a specialised communication device (AAC device), that are built to be withstand constant use. This would give Frankie the opportunity to:
• Express wants and needs without frustration.
• Share feelings, likes, and dislikes.
• Participate more fully in school and therapy.
• Build stronger connections with family, friends, and the community.
This device isn’t just technology—it’s a voice. It will open the door to independence, learning, and dignity. Every child deserves the chance to be heard, and this will give Frankie that chance.
Unfortunately, the cost of the device is beyond what I can manage on my own, and NDIS funding seems to be a never ending uphill battle. That’s why we are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for help.
How you can help:
• Donate any amount you can—every contribution makes a difference.
• Share our campaign with others who may want to help.
This may take years to get enough funds as these cost many thousands but I’m determined to get her something that will last her needs.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Frankie in finding her voice. With your kindness, we can give her the gift of communication, connection, and confidence.
❤️ With gratitude,
Jess Rankin
