We have known Fran and Tim for over 20 years, and as close friends, we are now reaching out to all our friends and family for your help.
Fran and Tim moved to Lismore from Sydney over seven years ago. They immersed themselves in the community, with Tim volunteering at the RFS and Fran working at LifeLine. They have made a wonderful life, and their home was always welcoming to everyone.
On the night of the 27 Feb, a rain bomb descended on the town of Lismore with devastating rain, and they were awoken by the ADF (Army) and told to evacuate immediately. As they left their home, the floodwaters were over 1.5 metres and rapidly rising, giving them no time to collect any precious items, but fortunately, they grabbed Holly, their lovely dog. The floodwater was at chin level and rising quickly on leaving the house. I can't imagine dealing with this at 4 am and worrying about other friends in your street. What they came home to was complete devastation. As Tim put it, it was like, "Someone had lifted the house and given it a shake and put it back down.
Fran and Tim need our financial assistance to rebuild their lives as insurance will not cover this event as it was an unprecedented act of nature. So, like us, if you can find in your hearts to help out, please donate to this site (https://www.gofundme.com/f/fran-tim-reconstruction-lismore-floods).
