I am a resident of Floral Park and on August 28th we will have a rally to support the men and women of Law enforcement.
We will raise funds to make a donation in the name of the Floral Park Police Department to the Silver Shield Foundation
Their instinct is to rush toward danger when everyone else is running away. Sometimes police officers and firefighters don’t make it home.
What happens when it comes time for the children’s education?
Since 1982, the Silver Shield Foundation has taken responsibility for the education of over 900 children. They provide educational support for children and surviving spouses of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
FBI Stats as of 08/10/2020:
Thirty-one law enforcement officers have been reported feloniously killed in 2020. During the previous year for the same time period, 27 officers were feloniously killed. At the time the 31 law enforcement officers were fatally wounded in 2020:Seven were victims of an ambush (entrapment/premeditation)
Zero were a victim of an unprovoked attack
