The B.U.R.N. Foundation is an 8-week summer program designed for aspiring young filmmakers and creatives, ages 13-17, who are eager to make a lasting impact in their community through art. No prior experience in filmmaking or the arts is required—just a passion for storytelling and a commitment to personal growth.

Twice a week, mentees will collaborate with program mentors and volunteers as they embark on the hands-on journey of creating a documentary spotlighting a Washington, D.C. grassroots organization of their choice. The program culminates in a private experiential event, curated entirely by the mentees, to showcase their projects. This celebration will serve as the program's closing session, where friends, family, and community members will gather to honor the students' achievements.

What Participants Will Gain:

Throughout the program, students will:

Develop core skills in video editing, production, directing, cinematography, and creative direction.

Learn essential teamwork and event budgeting strategies.

Build their portfolio with a professionally guided documentary project.

Connect with an inspiring network of established filmmakers, Howard University students & alumni, and local entrepreneurs.
