As of 3/27/20, Nassau County had over 4,600 COVID-19 positive cases, growing at a rate of over 33% a day. And yet our frontline heroes, work tirelessly and impossibly, risking their lives everyday to save ours. Let's do our little part to make their lives a bit easier - let's FORTIFY THE FRONT!
The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic are widespread and devastating. But, we have people on the frontlines fighting for us against this plague. Doctors and nurses and EMTs are all working tirelessly to save our lives! Police, firemen, and other first responders are ensuring our safety. Postal workers, deliverymen, grocers, utility workers are going to work each day, providing a service for us to live as normal, easy, and complete of a life as we can in these times. All these folks are helping us survive in ways that often go unmentioned and/or unnoticed. Thank You All. With you, while we may be confined to the safety of our homes, we are safe. And we can and WILL help.
This virus is unprecedented in scale and scope, and quite frankly, frightening in it's rapid and seemingly unstoppable march. By now, I'm sure we all have 1 to 2 degrees of separation with someone who has the virus. Personally, I know several people who've contracted the virus, and unfortunately, have had to say good-bye to a dear friend who could not fight the fight hard enough. This is personal, because none of us are far from its reach.
Our friends, our family, and our friends like family that are medical professionals have inspired this endeavor. They share their experiences from the frontlines, not knowing what the day will bring. Their experiences are absolutely crushing to hear.
So let's do our part!
We are raising money to bring food and other necessities to these heroes on the frontlines. We are supporting the small businesses by partnering with local restaurants to provide fresh meals for workers at local hospitals, fire departments, police stations, postal offices, etc.
100% of all money raised will be used to offset the cost of the food that will be delivered.
