For my Sister is an non-profit organization devoted to empowering and enabling young women with the tools and network to succeed worldwide through education, mentorship, and service with the guiding motto "I am her and she is me". In the summer of 2013, For my sister will like to continue its global impact and enhance the global sisterhood by expanding to Nigeria. With this being said, the "For My Sister" executive board, comprised of 6 Spelman Students, plans on traveling to Nigeria. In the country we plan on mentoring 20 girls with the "For my Sister" curriculum, between the ages of 14-18. We will also conducting service projects that are centralized around female health and wellness with the mentees and the local health department. We will be working with an all-girls boarding school, Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, during our stay in Nigeria.We are seeking additional funding to assist in making this impactful trip a success. Any amount of funding and/or assistance will be greatly appreciated.
