The GW Community lost one of its best. Murat Siyam was a bright light to everyone who was lucky enough to know him. We will miss him so much. 

His support for GW was unmatched, and he created an environment at Homeslyce that made it a place where we could all come together as family through the good and the bad. 

Murat’s passion was helping everyone around him. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Murat was donating and delivering food to frontline workers and military personnel stationed in the D.C area. 

I believe that the best way we can honor Murat is to continue his legacy of kindness, generosity, and service. The money raised here will be used to purchase meals from Homeslyce, Murat’s pride and joy that he worked tirelessly to build from the ground up, to then deliver to more frontline workers in the community including healthcare workers, first responders, postal workers, and others. If you know of any particular groups that were special to Murat, please share them so we can make sure we are taking care of the people who Murat loved.
