Turn The Lights Back On at Middleton Towers Railway Station

Donation protected

Middleton Towers Railway Station CIC are reaching out to the general public and private enterprises alike, to seek their generosity towards our fundraiser for the installation of an electricity and water supply.

Currently, there isn't an electricity nor water supply on site, having being severed some time post-closure (1968). In order for us to fulfill our aims as stated below, we require the installation of new connections.

Middleton Towers aims to enable the growth of a community, by providing a facility for people to:

  • Enjoy the ambience and history of the former Middleton Towers railway station in a tea room setting;
  • Share stories and anecdotes with one another about their experiences and past family experiences of the station and the Lynn & Dereham railway;
  • Encourage children and young people to participate in providing care and attention to a communal garden, promoting the adoption of a ‘green thumb’ mindset amongst young people with the aim of promoting respect for the environment;
  • Facilitate the education of local people through public talks, print and online media, to promote the history of the Lynn & Dereham railway.

Cost breakdown:

  • New water connection - Anglian Water - £6,523
  • New electricity connection - UK Power Networks £6,985

Every penny raised in this crowdfunding campaign will solely to go Middleton Towers Railway Station Community Interest Company, a non-profit organisation based in King's Lynn, Norfolk.
