Forest City’s local movie theatre needs your help

As The Forest Theatre prepares to celebrate its 10-year anniversary in November, we need your help to support our continued operation and much-needed improvements! Our most immediate needs include new theatre seats and a new HVAC system, among other needs.

You are invited to be a part of “the big picture” by becoming a ⭐️Gold Star⭐️ Contributor! Your tax-deductible donation of any amount will go directly to supporting The Forest Theatre as we seek to provide our local community with a quality movie-going experience for years to come.

The name(s) of all ⭐️Gold Star⭐️ contributors will be recognized on gold stars displayed in the theater’s front lobby windows through the end of 2023. Donors may also choose to give anonymously.

Contributors may donate directly via GoFundMe or via check. GoFundMe's transaction fee for charity fundraisers is 2.2% + $0.30 per donation. Example: For a donation of $100, a transaction fee of $2.50 ($2.20 + $.30) would be deducted by GoFundMe to cover the costs of credit and debit charges and safely delivering donations. Please note: When making a donation you will have the option to add a tip for GoFundMe services. Tips go directly to GoFundMe and do NOT cover transaction fees.

ABOUT THE FOREST THEATRE

Located in Forest City, Iowa, The Forest Theatre is owned and operated by Forest City Entertainment Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that is managed by a volunteer board of directors. The board is made up of community members and representatives from Forest City Economic Development (FCED).

Prior to being purchased by Forest City Entertainment, Inc., The Forest Theatre was privately owned and closed its doors in 2011. Thanks to an outpouring of support from the local community, The Forest Theatre was able to re-open its doors in November 2013. Donors, volunteers and contractors made it possible to purchase the theater and a new digital projector system, as well as upgrade the restrooms, electrical system, lobby, and concessions area.

Members of the community are also invited to support the Forest Theatre by becoming a member of our new Forest Theatre Community Advisory Committee. As a member of the committee, you will have an opportunity to offer your ideas, time and talent to help us continue to improve, enhance and expand our services.
