In response to Covid-19 we set up a mutual aid group to support our community.
While lockdown is easing, some people are still shielding or are suffering income loss or continuing poverty. Through the networks we’ve created in our neighbourhood we are getting more requests for food, hot meals, shopping, prescriptions and friendly chats than ever before. We’ve just delivered leaflets in English, Polish and Urdu to ensure that we’re reaching the people who need support.
We’re asking you to contribute if you can, and help us to continue to serve our community.
Here’s a round-up of what we’ve done so far:
*We have made over a hundred deliveries both of prescription pick ups and shopping.
*We have managed to provide a hot meal for 10 households, on a near daily basis for over 8 weeks.
*We’ve organised a seed-swap, quiz and social.
*We’ve offered emotional support and a friendly chat to anyone who needs it.
*We’ve advocated alongside our neighbours for them to be successfully housed.
