I have been humbled by the Sherpa community every time I have climbed in the Himalaya. Their strength, humility, and kindness have amazed me, and the beauty within their community reflects the beauty of the mountains they call home. Mountaineering has allowed me to share in those mountains, and I feel a deep responsibility to give back to the people who opened them to the world.
Working in the high mountains is dangerous, and those risks are growing as climate change makes glacier environments more unstable. Families are left without loved ones who worked to support their communities and our shared adventures. The Juniper Fund supports and empowers families and communities impacted by the loss of Himalayan high-altitude workers, providing practical help and a measure of security when tragedy strikes.
I am leading this fundraiser because the Sherpa community has done so much for me and for the entire climbing world. Supporting the Juniper Fund is a way to honor those who have given us access to these peaks, and to stand with families who are coping with loss. Every contribution helps provide immediate support and long-term resilience for families who need it most.
Please join me in giving back to the Sherpa families who have given us so much. Your donation to the Juniper Fund will help care for those affected by loss and keep the spirit of community and kindness alive in the mountains we all love.
