Supporting the work of Flex Community Group
Donation protected
We are The Flex Youth and Community Group. We are not for profit group and our provisions are run solely by volunteers. Our aim is not only to bring ethnically diverse communities into the wider communities but to support those struggling from financial hardship and the socially deprived communities. In such a short space of time, we have made a huge impact and are proud to say that we are the first group in Basildon of its kind.
We provide provisions and activities to young people in the Basildon at little or no cost. We believe that there should be no barrier to accessing safe and wholesome activities. Our goal is to create a rippling effect of kindness and integrity and nurture young people to be the best they can be. This comes in the form of counselling, mentoring, performing arts training, hot meals and safe spaces. We also encourage our service users to give back to their community and volunteer their time to help others in need.
But now we are asking for your help. Running these activities comes at a cost. To continue the hard work we are doing we rely on resources, fundraising and funding. With over 120 service users on our database, we are adamant that the work we are doing is not only needed but needs to continue.
Our goal is to eventually raise enough funds to create a mobile youth bus (youth centre on wheels) so we can travel around and meet the young people where they are. We do not believe that accessibility should be a barrier. Every £pound gets us that bit closer to changing the narrative and giving the much-needed lifeline Flex provides to the community at large.
No matter where we go Flex is the place to be. The heart of the volunteers and the vibrancy of our wonderful young people makes every session feel like Christmas. It is no longer just a group. It's family.
So I ask you to consider donating to the future of the kids that will one day lead yours.
