Help the Family of Salvador Velazques
Donation protected
As many of you may know our cellar master Chava Salvador Velazques passed away suddenly this past weekend. Our dear friend left being four children and we kindly ask you to donate what you can to help his family.
His friends called him Chava, but to those of us who worked with him he was Jefe- the boss. He was only 39 when he lost his fight to cancer leaving behind a family of three.
He started working with Chanin Wine Co in 2012 and soon became a key piece in everything we did. He did the work of many men, patiently and constantly bailing me out when I was on long trips to Vineyards. He was strong, relentless. and I still cannot believe he is gone.
If you have ever enjoyed our wine, then you knew Salvador. He had his fingerprints on every single bottle we made. He was immensely of his work and loved to see new scores or pack big orders for clients.
Salvador was always smiling , even when working late nights, early mornings, weekends and everything in between. I cannot find a picture where he isn't smiling. His incredible intelligence and understanding was evident throughout our cellar. His infinite small changes led us to making better and better wine and because of this, his presence will always be in our winery.
Jefe- to me you were an employee. You were a friend, a partner and a brother. But you were also a father, a son, a brother, and a friend to so many. Words cannot express how much you will be missed.
Please join us in raising a glass to Salvador by donating what you can here. He brought joy to his work and shared that joy with everyone who was lucky enough to work with him. Let's help allow his family to do the same in their memories to follow.
