Our family is asking for help for my uncle, Ricardo, whom we call Tio Ricky. Two days ago, he was detained by ICE while on his way to the mechanic. Before heading there, he stopped at a bakery to pick up breakfast sandwiches and coffee for the mechanics, a simple act of kindness that reflects the type of person he is. Tio Ricky has been in the United States for 10 years and has always been one of the most generous, hardworking, and caring people we know. He never complained, always made sure there was food to share, and often brought home pizza for the family. If all you had to offer were leftovers, he would gladly accept them. He has touched so many lives with his warmth and selflessness. We are devastated by this situation, and we are especially concerned because he is not receiving the blood pressure medication he needs and he can’t go long without it. We are raising funds to help make his transition back to Ecuador as smooth as possible and to support him during this incredibly difficult time. Any donation, no matter the amount, or even sharing this fundraiser, would mean the world to our family but he does want the chance to be able to stay. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
