It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the sudden and tragic passing of Zach Babb, a vibrant 32-year-old father, son, brother, cousin, and friend who was taken from us far too soon in a motorcycle accident.

Zach was a son first — his mother’s pride, joy, and heart. The bond they shared was unshakable, a love that shaped the man he became. He carried that same love into every part of his life, especially into being a father.

He was the proud dad of his beautiful three-year-old daughter, Zaphira, Lil Zee, the light of his life and his greatest joy. No matter what was happening in his world, her smile could calm his storms and remind him of what truly mattered.

Zach’s story was one of love, laughter, and loyalty. To know him was to love him—his warm heart, infectious smile, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a gift for bringing people together, lifting others up even in his own struggles, and living life with an open heart.

Florida became Zach’s home for many years, a place where he built friendships that turned into family. Yet no matter where he went, Illinois remained close to his heart—the place where his story began and where, after a celebration of life in Florida, he will be brought home to rest surrounded by his roots and the love of his family.

This unimaginable loss has shaken everyone who knew and loved him. As we try to come to terms with this tragedy, we are also faced with the difficult reality that Zach did not have life insurance. The suddenness of his passing has left his family unprepared to cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as to provide ongoing support for his beloved daughter, Zee.
