For Klevah Knox and new baby Samurai

Hello everyone,

My name is Renee and I am raising money for my cousin Klevah who gave birth on Christmas Eve. Samurai Akai was born prematurely at 25 weeks due to no amniotic fluid. He has been in NICU for 11 weeks, with Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia. He has received several therapies and transfusions, and is being very well taken care of by his doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital. His expected discharge is April 2023.

Due to Samurai's early arrival and hospitalization, Klevah has not been able to work for the last two months and has been on unpaid maternity leave since early December. All of her savings have been used for December - February rent, bills, meals, emergencies and transportation to and from Texas Children's Hospital. We want to raise enough money so that Klevah and her partner are prepared for Samurai's homecoming and can get to and from to see him while he is still in the hospital.

First priority for Klevah is a vehicle. For this, we need $2,500 - $5000. Second priority is moving to a new place. For this, I am asking for $3000-$5000 (deposit + first month’s rent and moving fees). Klevah's current lease ends on April 1st, which is the week Samurai is expected to come home. Beautiful alignment but also very stressful given the circumstances!
