If you know Jojo, you’ll know that she is the kind of person who gives everything she has to the people she loves.

She is a devoted wifey, an incredible mum to our son and someone who works tirelessly to build a happy life for her family. She is also a mixed-race transgender woman whose journey has required immense courage, resilience and determination.

In this current climate, I feel like we need to show up for our trans family more, especially when more often that not their existence is being debated and dignity stripped away. Like many trans people, Jojo faces significant financial barriers when it comes to accessing gender-affirming care. While she spends her days and nights providing for us, many of her own hopes and goals have had to wait. This includes the necessary gender affirming care she needs to make sure she sees herself as the woman she truly is.

This fundraiser began as a surprise birthday gift. I wanted Jojo to see what the rest of us already know: that she is loved, valued and supported by a community that believes in her.

Every donation, message, like and share will help Jojo take another step towards the future she deserves. More than that, it will remind her that she doesn’t have to make that journey alone.
