As our family and friends know, Izzy was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in January this year. Prior to this she had a fabulous list of diagnoses and this was something we weren’t expecting, or had even heard of!

Since her diagnosis we’ve been learning about Rett Syndrome and - while it’s a horrific thing we wish she didn’t have - we can see Izzy is one of the lucky Rett girls. She can walk, run, jump, swim, and has use of her hands. A lot of girls with Rett Syndrome don’t have these luxuries. But even then, Izzy has a lot of significant challenges that are still incredibly debilitating, and she - and we - struggle every day.

But we won’t go into that, because this Go Fund Me isn’t for or about Izzy as such - it’s for all girls who have this complex and horrible condition. The money goes to the Rett Syndrome Research Trust (https://reverserett.org/) who drive a significant amount of research into trying to cure Rett Syndrome. Any donations received in June will be matched upto $100,000 by some incredibly generous donors, so we are donating ourselves and sharing with family and friends in case they’d like to donate too.
