My name is Arturo Martinez — a 46-year lifelong Inglewood resident, devoted husband, and proud father of an 11-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son. In January 2022, crime hit our block hard, just steps from Bennett Kew Elementary. I emailed and called Councilwoman Dionne Faulk repeatedly. No answer. That silence changed everything. When I tried to run for City Council, City Hall illegally blocked me from the ballot. That injustice lit a fire. I’m now running for Mayor to fight the corruption, the insider deals, and the gentrification that’s quietly pushing longtime families out of the city we built.
I’m running For Inglewood By Inglewood because our families deserve to stay rooted here. The bright lights of our new entertainment district should lift us up — not blind us to deficits, unfair tax hikes, and canceled traditions like the MLK parade. If elected, my top priorities are: protecting longtime families with affordable housing, tax relief, and generational wealth workshops; ending wasteful spending and making big venues pay their fair share; restoring real public safety, ethics, and our annual MLK celebration.
I’m not a career politician — I’m one of you. A husband, father, and neighbor who’s all in to take our city back. Every contribution helps us reach more doors and more neighbors. Together, we can make Inglewood a city where our roots run deep and our future shines bright. Thank you for standing with me. Let’s do this — For Inglewood By Inglewood.
