For our DANI Cancer treatment

Donation protected

As some of you may know our little three month old Daniela Rose was recently diagnosed with cancer. It all started the first week of March with her not being able to hold down any milk in her tummy. She had a fluctuation of fevers before we had thought  something was not right. A visit to the ER turned  to her being admitted at White Memorial . After two spinal taps thinking she had meningitis the doctors concluded she only had Rhinovirus. Ten days passed she was discharged even tho Sara had mentioned she was continuously throwing up. Dani  went to see her pediatrician a week later for her two month old shots and we explained how she was always fussy and throwing up almost every time she would breastfeed. Her doctor said it was something normal. While giving her the oral meds Dani’s doctor  was able to witness the vomit projectile and told us to take her back to White Memorial so they could  do an ultrasound thinking she might have Pyloric Stenosis. After her appointment that day we rushed over to hospital’s E.R. After doing the ultrasound one of the ER doctors came to talk to Sara and told her she did not have Pyloric Stenosis but instead they found a mass and it was growing outside her stomach wall. When we heard this news we couldn’t believe this was happening to our Dani. That’s when fear started to sit in. I kept backtracking in my mind and also questioned myself what did we do for this to happen? The thought “she is too young for this” kept racing through my head. My wife Sara then  spoke to a nurse at Children's Hospital and explained to her about our daughter’s condition.  She was told to come immediately through the E.R where they would rush her in. Before Sara left she noticed Dani’s left side of her tummy was swollen and hard, also she looked very weak and pale in color. Dani was admitted immediately.  She was administered two blood transfusion because of a very low hemoglobin count. More tests and  more images were taken to get a better understanding  of what was going on in her system. A week after being admitted a biopsy procedure was done to confirm that our little Dani had Choriocarcinoma cancer in her liver and lungs. Due to the pandemic It pains my wife seeing our daughter go through all this while staying with her apart from David and I.  Dani has been in constant observation with her team of doctors and nurses trying to ease her discomforts. She is on chemotherapy now. We don’t know how long her treatment will last. She has been in the hospital since the March 26th. Our Dani is a bright eyed tough lil cookie who has gone through so much within a short amount of time since after her birth. Her cries sound raspy due to constant crying from all the needles, oral medication and treatment she’s endured. Dani doesn’t smile as often but is constantly on the look out to see who the next nurse is to administering injection. She has taken the chemotherapy very well now with great results. With a heartache we are asking for your help in this time of need to be able to help with medical bills and for Dani to have a restful recovery after chemotherapy once she’s at home. We want to thank each and everyone for your continued prayers and support. God Bless You.
