On July 15th at 3:04 PM, our world shattered.

We lost Cash — our beautiful, bright, dinosaur-loving boy — after a year-long battle that no child should ever have to face. He was only 12 years old.

Cash was diagnosed with AML leukemia last August. From that moment on, life became hospitals, chemo, masks, wires, whispered prayers, and holding on to hope. And through it all, Cash showed up like a warrior every single day.

He did everything that was asked of him. Every medication, every procedure, every hard conversation, he took it on, because he wanted to live. He wanted to get better. He never gave up.

After months of brutal treatment, we were blessed with the words every cancer family prays for: remission. But AML is aggressive. The only way to truly fight it was with a bone marrow transplant and in an act of love and sacrifice, his dad was the donor.

We thought that would be the beginning of his recovery.

Instead, it was the beginning of the end.

Every complication possible from a transplant found its way to Cash. He developed DAH — Diffuse Alveolar Hemorrhage, a rare and devastating lung condition. His lungs filled with blood. He struggled to breathe. He was placed on oxygen, then flipped onto his stomach for hours at a time, just to try and get his oxygen above 85.

He was maxed out on medications. Maxed out on oxygen. There were no more options left. And yet he kept fighting. For us. For his life. For the chance to come home.

On July 4th, he watched fireworks from his hospital window.

He was still trying.

But on July 15th, his little body just couldn’t take anymore.

Cash passed away surrounded by his parents and so much love.

And now, we’re left trying to do the unthinkable — plan a funeral for a 12-year-old child.

No parent should ever have to pick out a casket for their baby. No family should have to say goodbye this soon. And yet, here we are heartbroken, grieving, and facing a mountain of medical and funeral expenses that we simply cannot bear alone.

We are asking for your help.

To give Cash the beautiful, meaningful farewell he deserves.

To honor the life of a little boy who was far too good for this world.

Cash loved dinosaurs. He loved Godzilla. He loved Dr. Pepper. He loved his family more than anything. And we loved him with every fiber of our being.
