Footscray Canoe Club Flood relief

On 14th Oct 2022 Footscray Canoe Club, located on the banks of the Maribyrnong River, experienced its first significant flood in 29 years. The club raced to move equipment above the predicted level, but unfortunately the flood level was significantly higher than anticipated and the club was flooded to 1.43m inside the club house. While our canoes were mainly covered by insurance, our fridges, electrical equipment, catering equipment, and timing equipment have all been inundated with toxic mud and water and cannot be salvaged.

We are a small community club.
