The Food Train — Help Us Keep the Community Fed!

Back in 2018, I noticed a problem. Eating well at events was either expensive, exhausting to organise, or simply out of reach, especially for new players and anyone without a car. So the Food Train was born.

Seven years later, we’ve served over 50 people and cooked more than 2,000 meals, all run at zero profit, purely for the love of it.

But time catches up with everything. Over the past year, our equipment has been failing one piece at a time, and I’m no longer in a position to cover the replacements myself. That means the Food Train is facing a real crossroads: retire after 8 wonderful years, or let the community give it a new lease of life.

I’m hoping you’ll help us choose the second option.

Here’s what we need:

️ A new gazebo (top priority) - Wind and time have done irreparable damage. Without shelter, there’s simply nowhere for the Food Train to operate.

A replacement cool bag - The current one is literally falling apart.

A new kitchenette - Ours lasted nearly 20 years before giving up the ghost. We’ve muddled along without it for two years, but its absence makes food storage and keeping a clean workspace a real struggle.
