This small community of 24 children and a few adults is run by Nashif Achmed. He had developed a food garden and tries to take care of the school needs for the children, such as books.
Medical care in Uganda is very deficient while suffering from corruption, discrimination and money demands. The kids don't drink healthy water and tropical sickness such as typhoid, malaria, etc are no exception. Recently Nashif himself turn blind suddenly due to eye inflections and needed to be operated urgently in order not te go blind. The hospital is in Kampala, at over 200 km from their humble village.
The people have hardly any income of their own and fully rely for their emergencies on donations. All little bits can help. We never know when an emergency occurs so we try to build up a small insurance fund.
