Help FRP Feed Women and Children Seeking Safety at FRP's Shelter
My name is Sia, and I am the founder of Freedom Restoration Project in Mae Sot, Thailand.
This fundraiser is for food insecurity for vulnerable women and children in Mae Sot ---FRP's largest shelter budget item that we're having trouble covering as funding opportunities keep shrinking.
A little goes very far in feeding our shelter:
-- ฿180 / $5 USD will FEED A FAMILY for a day
-- ฿1000 / $30 USD gives GROCERIES FOR A WEEK for a family
-- ฿2500 / $75 USD offers SAFE HOUSING for one month for a mother and her children
-- ฿8000 / $250 USD covers FAMILY RECOVERY for a month (with food, medical care, shelter, counseling, and education)
(Options available for US tax-deductible donations and Thai bank transfer - click "DONATE" on www.frpthailand.org)
WHY WE NEED HELP...
Every day, I meet women and children who arrive at our shelter carrying fear, trauma, and exhaustion. Many are migrant mothers from Myanmar who have fled abuse, violence, and instability with nowhere else to go. Some come with only the clothes they are wearing.
At our shelter, we try to give them more than just a place to stay. FRP offers safety, counseling, trauma-informed support, and a chance to begin again.
But one of the most basic needs we want to provide is food.
Due to funding challenges in 2026, we are raising $13,000 USD to cover groceries for the women and children living in our shelter. Food is our biggest annual shelter expense, and right now, funding is very tight. When a mother escapes violence, she should not have to worry about how to feed her children.
Our shelter includes safe houses for women and children rebuilding their lives after abuse. For many families, this is the first stable place they have ever lived. A meal may seem simple, but in our shelter, it means comfort, dignity, and a luxury for children to be able to grow, play, and sleep well. It means a mother can breathe and begin to plan for a future free from violence.
A donation to this fundraiser gives food, but it also creates a safe home where women and children can heal.
If you are able to give, thank you from my heart. If you are able to share this page, that also means so much to our team and our women.
Your support helps our shelter stay open, builds safety for women and children, and keeps hope alive.
With gratitude,
Sia
