As middle school students, we see people living on the streets daily. Me and my friends always wonder if these people get enough food or even have basic necessities. In fifth grade, we did a presentation on "food insecurity" and learned a lot of stuff we probably wouldn't know to this day. Now, three years later, we are in eighth grade and trying to actually make a change. Food insecurity is when someone doesn't have a stable income or enough resources to afford nutritious food and/or get enough food. Food insecurity is a big problem in the Bay Area that over 870 THOUSAND people struggle with. About 11.5% of the Bay Area struggles with food insecurity because of our regions high living cost. We plan to do a food drive for those experiencing food insecurity and poverty. Around our neighborhood, we will put up door hangers explaining the food drive and show the pickup date/time. On the day of the drive, we will pick up the donated food and organize it. Yours truly, Sam, Ella, and Aiyana (S.E.A)
