FOACAS's Fundraiser for 4-wheel Truck

PLEASE HELP SUFFERING WITHOUT ADOPTING. COVID hit Cumberland, MD, one of the 15 most disadvantaged cities in the country, particularly hard. Unemployment soared and relief declined. When people suffer, so do their innocent animals. Dogs and cats abandoned on mountains and freezing, dark streets, or left in evictions and houses of sheer neglect. But the Allegany County Animal Shelter - a 501 c3 non-profit and no-kill animal shelter, in rain and snow, 24 hours a day, took its 4-wheel pick-up truck out to save every animal it could. Now that pick-up truck is collapsing from all this year’s record-breaking rescue work. Cumberland is once again turning to Potomac and our surrounding neighborhoods. The Friends of Allegany County Animal Shelter (FOACAS) are therefore launching this GoFundMe campaign specifically to replace the ailing truck with a good used 4x4 pick-up truck that can take over where its predecessor left off.  This is a desperate situation. The Shelter is anticipating an increase in the number of intakes and they cannot do what they so urgently need to, without a reliable transport vehicle. Our Appalachian neighbors are so grateful for any possible assistance from us. We, in turn, are turning to the kind and compassionate neighbors and friends who have been with us every step of the way, supporting our efforts to supplement the needs of the Cumberland Shelter.  Please join us again, as we respond to this important goal.   The Cumberland Shelter needs all we can do as they gear up for the Spring and what will be another busy and exhausting time for the Shelter staff.  Thank you so much for all you’ve donated and done thus far.
