Tony Murray - Local Elections 2019

I am running as an Independent Candidate in the upcoming Local Elections 2019 for Celbridge County Kildare. I would very much appreciate it if you were able to make a donation to my upcoming campaign. It would be extremely helpful if you could kindly share this on social media to get a wider audience aware of my campaign. As an Independent Candidate I have no budget for printing and postal materials so every euro raised will get my message out as best as possible. I have set a placeholder goal of €2000 but regardless if we fall short or exceed this goal, every bit helps towards marketing my campaign. About Tony, I am a single Dad of two sons who I brought up on my own. I am a full time Carer for my Mother who unfortunately now suffers with Dementia. I am living in Celbridge 30 years and was previously a member of the Celbridge Community Council. I have been involved in many different businesses over the years in senior management roles. In my younger years I was also a member of the Defence Force Reserves and I am a parent of a current enlisted serving member of the Defence Force. In my spare time I thoroughly enjoy playing Xbox online and supporting local musicians at venues locally and around the country. The key reason why I wanted to put my name forward for the upcoming local elections 2019 is that Politicians should make a real difference in the lives of people in their community or country for that matter. As a public elected councilor, it is our duty to look after the needs of our constituents and try to resolve their problems to the best of our ability. My passion would be for helping people as best I can within my immediate area and surrounding towns, getting satisfaction from making a positive difference in the community and proudly representing my local area and beyond to the best of my ability. I have a passion for seeking pay restoration for the members of our dedicated Defence Forces, Their remuneration is by far the worst in the public sector, the Defence Forces deserve special consideration and their problems need to be tackled as a matter of urgency. I also have huge admiration for the dedication and work of our Nurses, Midwives and Carers, and would also be fully supporting their pay increase and better conditions & contracts.  Strive to improve the safety and quality of life for all residents and their families, liaising with local authorities and communities to tackle issues affecting the community, such as housing, social services, schools, policing, the environment and transport. A cause for concern in my local area of Celbridge is the lack of a fully functioning Garda station, an issue that majority of residents have been vocal about. Kildare also has the lowest rate of Gardaí in the country, with 15 Gardaí per 10,000 head of population. I thrive in situations where I can meet people, have informal conversations and offer my assistance to them. This is a chance for an Independent candidate like me to offer my services and go up against the many bigger parties who will no doubt have the budgets and people in high places to more or less guarantee them a win.
