Flowers for Mamaroneck Avenue restaurants
We are raising money to beautify our village by putting potted flowers on top of the concrete barriers on Mamaroneck Avenue restaurant.
We are doing this project in a community-building, economical way. We will meet on Saturday, May 22nd at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church to assemble purchased pots, flowers and dirt into arrangements. Residents of the community, along with local Girl Scouts will work together to make this happen.
The costs are:
- flower holders (58 pots) - $805
- flowers from Weaver Gardens (UPDATE: now up to 50 pots) - $1,313
- dirt from Costco (covered by Sarah Chang's Girl Scout troop)
- river pebbles - $62
Donations made:
- Mamaroneck Chamber of Commerce will donate $25 per barrier
- Roasters donated $100
UPDATE: So far, 25 concrete barriers are up - each barrier holds two flower pots, so right now we are up to 50 plantings.
We purchased 58 flower holders on a bulk deal to allow for 2 other restaurants expected to request barriers shortly (in which case we'll need enough flowers for 58 pots). If they do, we will need to raise additional funds for flowers.
See attached receipts. Once we have an updated estimate from Paul, we will update. Any extra money raised will go toward buying stand alone plants for the restaurants to place between barriers.
Thank you to Sarah Chang and Richard Leimgruber, President of the Mamaroneck Chamber of Commerce for their collaboration in making this project possible.
GO TIGERS!
