Florosa Firefighters Inc Santa Run 2020 Fundraiser

Hello, 

On behalf of the Florosa Firefighters Inc. foundation I would like to thank you for visiting our page and for your support.

The Florosa Firefighters Inc. was founded almost 20 years ago and consists of all active members of the department. The Inc. was chartered with the sole goal of supporting the community and the firefighters at Station 5. Florosa Firefighters are often referred to as “neighbors helping neighbors” as Station 5 is comprised completely of volunteer firefighters. Members of the Florosa Firefighters Inc. work hard to embody these values both on duty and off. 

Those of you who are local to the area or have visited Florosa during the holidays may be familiar with the Santa Run. One of the largest events that the Florosa Firefighters Inc. supports is the annual Santa Run. Rooted deep in tradition at our department, this event takes place during the holiday season when “Old Saint Nick” comes to town. During his stay, Santa teams up with volunteer firefighters from Florosa as they escort him around the district on E5-3, making stops in every neighborhood, handing out candy canes, blasting holiday music and spreading holiday cheer! 

Due to COVID, this year the Firefighters Inc. was not able to fundraise in our traditional manner. There are substantial costs associated with operating “Santa’s Iron Sleigh”.  The Firefighters Inc. operates their budget independently of the Florosa Fire Control District. Due to our inability to raise funds we are at risk of not being able to provide our Santa Run this year. As such, we are reaching out to the community, current residents, past residents, family and friends. We need your help to keep this tradition alive and to keep spreading that holiday spirit. We have elected to utilize GoFundMe for this venture due to the convenience (social distancing) and wide reach of social media platforms.
