Hi, my name is Natasha Ramkissoon and I am fundraising for my family and community affected by the server flooding that took place a few days ago due to torrential rainfall in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. At this very moment as I create this fund, the death toll has reached 250+ people and the number is growing.

My parents and family members homes were flooded resulting in heartbreaking losses.

By way of an example (one that is very dear to my heart), my uncle and aunt who run a family owned business watched helplessly as their business assets and equipment were washed away by the raging flood waters. They both run a small business that provides stage decor/props for various events like weddings and parties. They were already facing challenging times over the past two years as their business came to a standstill due to covid. The flood also took out much of their personal belongings and destroyed various parts of their home. Where will the funds go:

In addition to trying to raise funds to help my aunt and uncle restore their business (or part of it at the very least, by purchasing new props and equipment), I am hoping to raise enough funds for the local community at large as well (by providing financial assistance to local non-profits who in turn are providing aid to those affected by the flooding by means of food supplies and other emergency relief efforts). 

This is an urgent plea as many have been displaced and left with barely anything. Your support would mean the world to me, my family and all the other families in my home county, South Africa.
