Help Us Build Inclusive, Free Community Comic Cons for Everyone
Community Comic Con CIC was created for one simple reason:
Everyone deserves a place to belong.
Comic Cons and pop-culture communities are powerful spaces. They bring together people who love comics, cosplay, gaming, art, films and creativity in all its forms. For many people (especially those who are neurodivergent or feel socially isolated) these spaces aren’t just hobbies. They’re lifelines.
We saw that firsthand.
In July, we delivered our very first FREE Community Comic Con, completely run by volunteers. Over 2,500 people came through the doors. Families, young people, creatives, cosplayers, gamers, artists, traders and first-time attendees all shared the same space, many meeting people like themselves for the first time.
It was welcoming, It was inclusive and it proved there is a real need for free, community-led events like this.
But Community Comic Con CIC is about more than just one day.
We exist to support, promote and empower creatives, clubs and community groups within the Comic Con and wider pop-culture community. Alongside events, we support not-for-profit clubs and groups all year round, from promoting what they do, to offering practical help and financial support where possible. This includes initiatives like our free monthly board-gaming nights, helping people try something new and build the confidence to join regular groups.
A large number of people drawn to Comic Con culture are neurodivergent or experience loneliness. Too often, they are left out of mainstream community activities. Everything we do is built around creating safe, judgement-free spaces where people can be themselves, make friends and feel they belong.
So why are we fundraising?
Although our events are free to attend, they are not free to deliver. Venue costs, equipment hire, insurance, marketing, activity materials and safety requirements all add up. As a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organisation, we work incredibly hard to keep costs low, but we can’t do it alone.
Your support will help us:
Deliver free, accessible Community Comic Con events
Support not-for-profit clubs and community groups
Create welcoming spaces that tackle loneliness and isolation
Keep our activities inclusive, safe and community-focused
Every donation, no matter the size helps us continue building something that genuinely changes lives.
If you believe in creativity, community and inclusion and if you believe that no one should feel alone simply because they’re “different”, we’d be incredibly grateful for your support.
Thank you for helping us build a community where everyone belongs.
