Flapdragons Activate - Sue Magina Needs Us

In 2016, "Sue Magina" started a Facebook page called Periods for Pence to call attention to and against Mike Pence, the then Governor of Indiana, and his archaic efforts to reduce uterus owners to forced babymakers. A grassroots effort from beginning to end, the page eventually gained national attention and was eventually renamed Periods for Politicians.

I am a senior admin of the page, and the experience has been lifechanging. One of the greatest honors - getting to know Sue and her husband "G". Kind, brilliant, tireless folks who want nothing more than to do good for others and pave a better path for humanity. We have celebrated their life journey since 2016 as they made the decision to become foster parents, eventually adopting two more children through that pathway, creating a beautiful family of five.

A few short months ago, we got the news from Sue. Something was wrong with G, and it was bad. And in a blink and blur, the fight was over. It's stunning and heartbreaking.

That was about four weeks ago. I know there isn't much choice but to live through the minutes and hours and days after this kind of loss, and she's doing it - but, it's crushing. Before this happened, we knew we needed to archive the page. We ran out of steam, plain and simple, but none of us could push that button. Today, I can. But first, I am going to ask our community - can we please help Sue. For all the brilliance and encouragement and resourcefulness and tirelessness and energy and humor she gave over the years - can we please help her now.

A little or a lot. Her top need is a service dog as she has Type 1 diabetes. If P4P could help her with that - AMAZING!

Thank you for being a part of this community. We love you. We hate the current state of affairs. We are still loudmouth women with lots to say - and we are saying it in our local communities every day.
